Maureen was very pleasant upon arrival and the room at the Seafoam Building was clean and comfortable. We headed right for the beach and were very shocked to see the massive crowds of people directly in front of the hotel (this was at 5pm). The Seafoam building is adjacent to the public access but we expected the hotel would have rights to some part of the beach but this was obviously not the case. The next day we headed out to a more quiet beach and upon returning to the hotel, we were greeted with an angry man who stared us down and then charged our car as soon as we opened our doors. His opening statement in a rude tone was “if you aren’t staying at the hotel, your car will be towed”. My husband responded we were hotel guests and he again rudely replied “people who stay here have a parking pass to display in the window”. My husband quickly found it in the car and displayed it on the dashboard. Rather than apologize for the misunderstanding, he continued to harass us telling us he has been in business over 40 years and wanted to know where we lived. He then proceeded to tell us that “we... He continued to repeat how “lucky he was that he was there” . We had no idea who he was as he didn’t identify himself and he was not wearing High Noon attire. We asked if he worked there and he rudely snapped “I am the owner”. We all have our bad days and he was obviously having a bad day. It was such a degrading experience for us and we have never been treated with such disrespect by anyone at any level working in a hotel. Next time, hire someone for $10 an hour to watch the cars parking at your hotel. The person you hire will undoubtedly treat your guests with more respect than you did.

A few other comments to share before you decide to book this hotel:

Pool - If you are looking to lounge by the pool during the day bring a lot of sunscreen as the pool area offers a few huts with upright chairs. If you want a lounge chair, there are no umbrellas at the pool so if you are looking for full-sun you have it. Guests at the Seafoam claimed their tables for the entire 3 days we were there. They left their towels and pool toys all day and night.

Security - the gates in the front and the back of the hotel are often left open and if they happen to be closed at night time, you can climb on the wall next to the rear gate and you are in the pool area. We witnessed it many times as we sat at the pool at night.

Morning Coffee - Would be nice to offer a cup of coffee in the lobby for guests. Yes, there are coffee makers but for the price we paid, a cup of coffee in the morning would be a nice “perk”.

This hotel caters to regulars who have been coming for years. If you are not a regular, it’s hit or miss. For us, it was a big miss. More

This is the nicest and cleanest motel around. We will not stay anywhere else. The staff are... read more friendly and extremely accommodating to your needs. The rooms are updated and super clean. The pool..the same. The grounds are very well kept also. I cannot say anything negative about this establishment. Also walking distance, literally feet away to all the restaurants and bars..no car needed.
Thanks again for a great stay...always hate leaving and cant wait to get back.

Since COVID and it’s impact on our travel plans, we decided to try again and found a few dates available this August. So we immediately booked 6 nights. We’re not “resort motel” people. We’re more Ritz Carlton. Four Seasons folks. However from the first steps on the property I knew we came across an amazing place! Everyone from the front desk staff, the housekeeping staff, and the owners (Bruce, Brian, and Dad) are just very welcoming and amazing people. What a history and legacy created by this family for all of us to enjoy. The accommodations are clean and well maintained. The common areas (pool, courtyards, gardens) well cared for and maintained. 4 minute walk to the beach through their own parh through the dunes. Definitely like a good time, but appreciate that this place doesn’t t like partying crowds or just plain rude and disrespectful guests. We’llwe booked 4 nights in November (last 4 consecutive nights in Unit 001 until next June 2023)! And we booked a family stay snagging a couple units for 10 days in mid June 2023. While we’ll still patronize the Ritz and Four Seasons, when coming to Ft Lauderdale, we’ll be hard pressed to want to stay anywhere else. More

My husband did... read more some internet research as he really wanted to be ON the beach (thank you google satellite). How lucky were we to be able to find this place and they had a last minute cancellation. The room had everything we needed (they make good use of their space) including microwave and mini fridge, it is 4 steps from our door to the pool and just a few more steps to the beach. Fantastic family owned hotel; fantastic location (we didn't need a car, walked everywhere and ubered to and from the airport) and even the regular snow birders were happy to see us. Everyone around the pool and the hotel are very friendly, filling you in on the local spots.. I couldn't recommend this enough to anyone and if we are lucky enough to go next year; it would be our #1 choice!
